ISTE has 775 ISTE chapters, 735 students Chapter & 1370 Institutional Members the objectives of the ISTE is to enhance professional ideals and standards to bring about effective linkage between Institutions and Industry.
About the university:
Kalasalingam University (formerly regarded as Arulmigu Kalaslingam College of engineering) was established in the year 1984 by the “Kalasalingam Anandam ammal charities”. “Kalvivallal” Thiru.T.Kalasalingam, veteran freedom fighter, is the founder Chairman of this institution and now is the chancellor of the Kalasalingam University. The university is located at the foot hills of the western Ghats in rural setting of Virudhunagar district and is catering to the needs of the downtrodden and rural youth. The university is situated at krishnankoil, 65 kilometers south of Madurai and 10 Kilometers north of Srivilliputtur, in Madurai – Senkottah National Highway (NH 208). The founding philosophy of the institute is to “Empower Youth”, for the development through technology. It offers U.G. courses, 16 P.G. courses, M.S. (Research) and Ph.D programs in various disciplines such as civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Application, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Business Administration. This university is the first institution in India to offer the bachelor degree in engineering for hearing impaired students. The university has signed MoU with foreign Universities, research organizations and Industries with an objective to promote research and development.
